The Management Team 

Dr Linda Sze Tu

Head of Operations

Dr Sze Tu joined the Company in September 2003 as a research and development engineer. Prior to this Dr Sze Tu spent 4 years in research at the University of New South Wales, Australia, specializing in the field of pharmaceutical processing with supercritical fluids, and 4 years in industry as a research engineer at James Hardie Industries.

Dr Sze Tu has lead various projects at Eiffel, including the combination asthma programme, from research and development through to scale-up and production of clinical trial supplies. In October 2006 she was promoted to Head of Operations.

Dr Pascal Hickey

Pharmaceutical Management Consultant

Dr Hickey joined the Company as Chief Operating Officer in October 2003 and was General Manager for the period May 2005 to November 2006. He has over 15 years experience in international pharmaceutical research and development. He has a track record for bringing novel technologies through preclinical and clinical development.

He was previously Group Head, Preclinical Development for PowderJect Technologies, now Chiron Corporation (UK), during which time he held responsibilities in both line function management and project leadership.

Dr Hickey is a registered pharmacist in Victoria, Australia, and a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.


 

Mr Ian Atkin

Chief Financial Executive & Company Secretary

Mr Atkin is a Chartered Accountant and Partner in Kidmans Chartered Accountants and brings with him experience in business and financial management.

Mr Thomas Hartigan

Non-executive Director & Chairman

Mr Hartigan is a Chartered Accountant and Bachelor of Commerce. He specialises in raising development capital for growing businesses, particularly in the transition from private to public companies.

Over the past twentyyears he has been a Director and Chairman of nine other public companies, including founding Chairman of biotechnology company, Biodiscovery Limited.

Dr Ross Macdonald

Non-executive Director

Dr Macdonald is Vice President Business Development for Connetics Corporation, a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Palo Alto, California with a focus on the development and commercialisation of innovative therapeutics for the dermatology market. Before joining Connetics he was Vice President of Research & Development with FH Faulding & Co Limited (now part of Mayne Group Limited) and a former Managing Director of Soltec Research.

Dr Macdonald began as a consultant research analyst in the pharmaceutical industry before joining AMRAD Corporation in 1987, where he held various positions in business development.

Mr Bruce Hundertmark

Non-executive Director

Mr Hundertmark is a businessman and company director with a wide range of experience in high technology based start-up operations. He has been a director of News International PLC, Prudential Cornhill Insurance Limited and was managing Director of IMFC Limited, a merchant bank.

Mr Hundertmark is appointed to the Board as a representative of Jagen Pty Limited

Mr Michael Hoy

Non Executive Director

Mr Hoy is a businessman and company director with extensive corporate experience in Australia, the UK, USA and Asia. He is chairman of Biotron Limited; chairman of Cityprint Holdings Pty Limited; and a former director of John Fairfax Holdings Limited and FX Trust Limited.

Mr Hoy is appointed to the Board as a representative of Jagen Pty Limited

Mr Neill Colledge

Non Executive Director

Mr Colledge has been CEO of the Queensland BioCapital Fund (QBF) since November 1994. QBF was established by the Queensland Investment Corporation as its venture capital arm specialising in biotechnology.

Prior to joining QBF, Mr Colledge was Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Research for Australian Equities at QIC. Between 1996 and 2004, Mr Colledge held specific responsibility for QIC’s main Australian industrial equity portfolio, which ranged in value from $4 billion to $11 billion. Over the period 1990-2000 he also managed QIC’s investments in private equity and venture capital.

Mr Lawrence Gozlan

Non Executive Director

Mr Gozlan is the CEO and founder of Scientia Capital, a specialised global investment fund focused exclusively in life sciences.

Prior to this, Mr Gozlan was responsible for the largest biotechnology portfolio in Australia as the institutional biotechnology analyst at QIC, a funds manager with over $50 billion under management. He was also the senior biotechnology sell-side analyst in the equities team at Foster Stockbroking, and has had senior corporate finance experience advising life science companies at Deloitte.
